Very Old Grenache vines – around 100 years of age – that yield a modest crop are the source of our Inigo Rosé.
The 2018 vintage started at Sevenhill on February 27 and was completed on April 10. Although spring and summer were marked by very dry conditions, rain at critical times during the growing and ripening season ensured sound development of the fruit. Warm days and cool nights leading into vintage and during the harvest allowed gentle development of the crop, which meant the fruit could be picked at optimum ripeness.
Holding on skins for 20 hours after crushing captures colour and depth of flavour from the 100% old-vine Grenache fruit.
The 2018 Inigo Rosé is bright watermelon pink in colour. It has very lifted aromas of rosewater and strawberries. The palate is complex, with musk and strawberries and a hint of spice. It is a dry wine with a slight fruitiness on the finish.
